There is something so revitalising and comforting about the smell after a rain storm........
Well actually that smell is caused by bacteria. Actinomycetes. This bacteria grows in the soil when it's wet and warm, when the soil dries out the bacteria produces spores. The force of the rain projects these spores into the rain and TADA! we have the after the rain smell!
